Combined Acupuncture with Other Therapies
Health Is Our Greatest Possession
Combining Massage with Acupuncture enhances the effectiveness of each therapy, as both therapies access the body at different levels. Massage uses a variety of techniques which allows muscles to relax, stiff joints to loosen. The body absorbs more oxygen, which rejuvenates the body. It leaves the body relaxed and more receptive, which makes the acupuncture more powerful.
We use this combination to assist in correcting problems and imbalances for musculoskeletal issues that are caused from repetitive and / or strenuous physical activity, trauma and poor posture.
Shiatsu Acupressure works on the same principles as Acupuncture (TCM) and accesses the same Acupoints. Shiatsu uses techniques which involve hand pressure, stretching, squeezing, tapping, stroking and rubbing in order to release muscles, improve circulation and restore balance in the body. I often blend these two therapies if you are experiencing any emotional stress, depression, or are worried about acupuncture needles.
The hand on, gentle approach Shiatsu offers gives the person receiving it a deep sense of calm, is nurturing and feels deeply supportive. Shiatsu has a unique way of reaching a person on lots if different levels, including physical and emotional problems. Incorporating Shiatsu into an Acupuncture session can feel deeply restorative.
