Helping you get in the best possible shape
James is a qualified nutrition therapist, ultra-marathon runner, fitness professional and father to twins – but not always in that order!
Starting life as a journalist and moving into personal training and fitness over 10 years ago, James expanded his practice knowledge when he graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the Northern College of Acupuncture in 2017.
His special areas of expertise include weight management, performance nutrition, infertility, food allergies and intolerances, and nutritional support for long-term illnesses. Given his young family, he also has a strong interest in family nutrition – and dozens of techniques for tempting children away from the sweet jar and towards a healthier diet.
James has competed as a runner at international level and he has represented Great Britain four times at the historic 153-mile Spartathlon race in Greece. His other interests include music and films.
James is a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS). He is also currently completing a research project in endurance nutrition to complete his MSc in Nutrition Science.
James’ clinic hours at Balance Natural Health are: Saturdays 9-5pm, Mondays 8am-2pm, and Tuesdays 8am-12pm
